The Score Valley Country House Hotel, which was formerly an 18th. The hotel has extensive grounds including a walled garden with an old buttery spring, streams, pond and front lawn. Intricate walls and arches harp back to former times when a team of gardeners maintained the grounds and surrounding farm buildings.

Situated as it is in Glorious North Devon between the wonders of Exmoor and some of the best and safest Atlantic beaches in the West Country, there is a vast array of exciting country activities and pursuits and natural beauty to enjoy. These include exploring the South West Coastal Path and other inland walks and cycleways such as the Tarka Trail. There are also centres to participate in activities such as golf, fishing, shooting and horse riding. The wide sandy beaches are ideal for surfing, windsurfing, kite flying and impromptu games of football, rugby and cricket. Ilfracombe's Victorian harbour has undergone extensive renovation and is now rejuvenated with working fishing boats, pleasure boats and private craft.
